Autoimmune Diseases and Genetics
Autoimmune Disease and Genetics.
How important is genetics?
‘Genetics does account for about 25% of the chance that you will develop an autoimmune disorder. But that means the remaining 75% of the picture is environmental - and therefore up to you. I find that an incredibly empowering statistic.’ Dr Amy Myers.
Isn’t this great news! This means it’s not inevitable, and we have some control over our bodies, our health and our chance of developing an autoimmune disease.
My biggest fear is my children will have the same issues that I have.
Now with my knowledge as a Health Coach, my knowledge as someone with autoimmune diseases who, through diet and lifestyle changes, lives an active, healthy life, and through seeing changes in the clients I help, I have hope and happiness that is not inevitable that my children will have the same issues as me. I can empower them to live healthier lifestyles, eat better, and learn to look after all aspects of their lives to have a brighter, healthier life.
I hope you have enjoyed this information. Until next time!
