Processed foods should be avoided for many reasons; one, most nutritional value is lost in the creation of these foods and two, the added preservatives are harmful to our health.
Many processed foods contain a high amount of salt, which leads to higher blood pressure and heart disease.
Have you ever read the label of ingredients?
Does it contain items that you don’t recognise?
Did you know that in general, the more ingredients food lists on the label, the more processed it is?
Stick with foods that look like the original source: whole grains, produce, etc.
Remember: the majority of processed foods lack nutrition and are packed with preservatives!
